How to Request & Login to a Functional Account

In offices that have a need for student employees to schedule appointments for students, or perform any role within Slug Success that sends a confirmation email to students, the use of a Functional Account is highly recommended. Instructions for requesting and using a functional account are provided below.

 

1. Request a new functional account by sending an email to slugsuccess-help@ucsc.edu. Please include the name of the account (i.e. ‘[Office Name] Front Desk” or “[Department] Scheduling Assistant”) as well as the email address to be associated with the account. Messages sent to students based on actions taken by this account will come from this address.

 

 

2. After your request is processed, you will receive an email that contains your new functional account name, username and temporary password. You can follow the instructions in that email to login, or keep reading this page for more info.

 

 

3. Go to https://ucsc.campus.eab.com/session/new?prevent_redirect=true (you may want to bookmark this page). *NOTE* If you attempt to follow this link while you’re already logged into Slug Success in another window in the same browser, it will simply refresh your Slug Success screen. The easiest way to avoid this issue is to open the link in a different browser (Safari, Chrome, or Firefox).

4. Enter the username and password for your functional account as indicated in the email you received to login to the site. THE PASSWORD TO THIS ACCOUNT IS NOT TO BE SHARED WITH STUDENT EMPLOYEES.

 

 

5. After you log in for the first time, it is highly recommended that you change the password associated with your account. You can find the Update Password option in the User menu on the top right of the screen.

6. Once logged in, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the screen and select Additional Modes > Appointment Center. More info about using the Appointment Center is available on this webpage.
